Sam Dhaliwal, Director of Operations
In 2004 Sam started a company called Abbotsford Security Services Ltd. The company provides security in the Fraser Valley region to various local and large companies.
The company currently employs over 80 employees. He is also actively involved in his community as well his company sponsors and participates in numerous charitable events throughout the year.
In 2006 Sam started First Group of Companies, First Group owns a number of specialist companies strategically located throughout Lower Mainland, British Columbia, each independently managed as an independent profit centre but falling under the umbrella of First Group. Today First Group, has grown into a dynamic force in the fields of Security Services, Jantorial Services, Sign Services, General Labour Services, Residential Care, Maintenance, Trading and throughout the Vancouver, British Columbia.
Sam Dhaliwal is a member of ASIS, International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals (IACSP) and Diplomatic Security Special Agents Association (DSSAA). Sam Dhaliwal has a wealth of experience in overall operational activities of security business including recruiting, training, scheduling and after hour field support. His strengths are loyalty to the company, dedication to his work, analytical ability, patience and endurance in the completion of any task he is asked to complete.
Vic B.Tidder, Operations Manager
Vic Tidder joined First Group as Operations Manager of the Lower Mainland First Security Division. He arrived in Vancouver, Canada in 1985 and started working for the Council of Forestry’s in conjunction with the R.C.M. P log theft division, patrolling the lower arm of the Fraser River working to prevent log theft. He became interested in the Security industry and in 1989 after attending several courses in business management he obtained a position with Largest Western Security Company.
After several years learning the security industry, he became the Manager. Vic worked with high profile clients and was responsible for Security at the Vancouver Aquarium when Queen Elizabeth 2nd opener the new Amazon Gallery. He was also at UBC for the Fifth Assemble of the World Council of Churches. When Vancouver hosted Expo 86, he was at the groundbreaking ceremony when they hoisted the flags at the False Creek site.
For several years, Vic did legal services and Investigations for a host of lawyers throughout North America. He also did debt collection for Miliken & Michelle a company based in the US.
Today, he has joined First Group to make a difference in security industry.
Bikerum Rai, HR Manager
Bikerum Rai joined First Group as HR Manager of the First Security Division in Vancouver Area.
Under Sam Dhaliwal’s direction, First Secure Management looks forward to establishing its administrative processes and efficiencies while creating a focus on operational excellence for the future. Adam will dedicate himself to the growth and development of the company.
David Toner, Training Division
David Toner joined First Group as Instructor of the First Career Institute. David Toner has been working for nearly 20 years in the private sector and has experience in security management, nightclubs, campus security, and retail loss prevention and was also a licensed private investigator. As a certified Instructor at the Justice Institute of BC, Mr. Toner has been able to participate in the development of the Private Security Training program. The skills and techniques he teaches have been tested in real life scenarios. His students have included security guards, police officers, jail guards, and a member of the Canadian military.
David has a degree in Law & Security Administration and studied Political Science at Simon Fraser University. Mr. Toner has been practicing martial arts for 25 years, and holds Black Belts in Tae-kwon-Do, Jiu-jitsu and Aiki-Jujutsu.
Leanne Amor, Administrative Assistant
Leanne is originally from Squamish, BC and moved to Abbotsford in January of 2008. In 2007 she completed her Administrative Assistant Certificate course, with honours, and has been working in such a capacity since. She joined First Group in April of 2008 and has enjoyed her time spent here and looks forward to her future with the company.
